中山 茂 (2009) 論文集 The Orientation of Science and Technology: A Japanese View

この著者の1980年の本で、社会の中での科学のありかたとして、「アカデミズム科学」「産業化科学」と対照させた「サービス科学」という考えが提唱されている。わたしはたびたびこれを参照する(たとえば「科学はどう変わったらよいか?」(2004) [2011-03-27 リンク先移動])。しかしこの本は今は売られていない。

最近、著者のブログ「paradigmerのブログ」2011年1月4日の記事【2017-01-27 リンク先変更】で、サービス科学論を英語で書いたものが英語論文集に収録されたことを知ったので、注文した。収録されたこれ以外の論文は日本の科学史に関するものである。著者の英語による著作の目録もつけられている。
