Languages of the original document

• Code of languages
  • Without following marks: In English (or unknown but guessed as English).
  • {C}: in Chinese.
  • {J}: in Japanese.
  • {K}: in Korean.
  • {R}: in Russian.
  • {T}: in Thai.
  • Codes for other languages may be added.
• Code of availability of English title etc.
  • The case for Japanese is explained below. Similar rule applies to other languages.
  • {J-}: Published in Japanese only. English title is not given in the publication itself. As well as possible, both a transcription of the original Japanese title and an unoffitial translation to English are shown.
  • {J+}: Published in Japanese with English title.
  • {Je}: Published in Japanese with English abstract.
  • {JE}: Published in both Japanese and English.
  • {J}: Details are unknown to the compiler of this list. If possible, both a transcription of the original Japanese title and a translation to English are shown, but sometimes only one of them is given.

Format for names of authors and editors

• In principle, the family name is placed first, and the initials of the personal names follow. Full spellings of the personal names are given only when it is considered necessary to distinguish a person from another. Though this order is transposed from the usual order of names in English, a comma is not inserted, to prevent confusion with the comma separating the name of one person to that of another person.
• For those people who do not have distinct family names, or who use personal names much more frequently than family names, the full names are shown without transposition. This rule is applied only when the full name was available to the list compiler.

Transcription into Roman letters

• Unless specified otherwise, Japanese words except names of persons are transcribed using the 'kunrei' system (including 'si, ti, tu, zi' etc.).
• Names of Japanese persons are transcribed following the style of the persons if it is known. Otherwise, they are transcribed using the Hepburn system (including 'shi, chi, tsu, ji' etc.).
• Unless specified otherwise, Chinese words except names of persons are transcribed using the 'pinyin' system (including 'Zhongguo' etc.).
• Names of Chinese persons are transcribed following the style of the persons if it is known. Otherwise, names of persons in Taiwan and Hong Kong are transcribed using the Wade system (including 'Chungkuo' etc.), and names of persons in the mainland are transcribed using the 'pinyin' system.
