Daily precipitation in Thailand (gridded), 1979 - 2012
- Data sources
- Thai Meteorological Department
- Grid size
- 0.05 degree longitude, 0.05 degree latitude
- Interpolation method
- "Spheremap" (Willmott C.J., Rowe C.M. & Philpot W.D. 1985:
American Cartographer 12: 5 - 16.)
Note
- Values at grid boxes whose distance from the nearest observation station
is larger than the equivalent of 0.05 degree latitude or longitude
are set as missing.
- Values at grid boxes outside a poligon which approximates
the national boundary of Thailand are set as missing.
- Background shading is based on topographic height
(based on dataset "GLOBE" from U.S. National Geophysical Data Center,
averaged on 0.05 degree longitude/latitude grid boxes).
The grid boxes where elevation is higher than 500 m are shaded in grey.
- The temporal boundary between a day and another is 00 UTC (07 LST).
The amount of precipitation observed at 00 UTC of a certain day
is mentioned as the precipitation of the previous day.
